Morocco
Amy Gottlieb is a traveler, photographer, and public health student at UT. She hasserved as a Peace Corps volunteer as an environmental educator and as a community developer. She taught environmental science to 700 children, spearheaded an AIDS awareness campaign, and founded Jaimaica's first off-road triathlon (currently in its 13th season). She also worked in Bolivia to evaluate one of Pan-American Health Organization's (PAHO) new water sanitation modules. More recently, she backpacked solo across Morocco. With its beautiful Kasbahs, mosques, beaches and deserts, Morocco offers a delight to any traveler. From its famous Souks in Marrakesh to the High Atlas Mountains, Morocco is simply intriguing. As a female traveling alone, she found the country very easy to navigate. The public transportation systems were reliable, the food was delicious and the people were incredibly friendly.
