Ethiopia: Cradle of Humanity

Ethiopia has long been an intersection between civilizations of North Africa, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. It is home to one of the worlds most ancient forms of Christianity. Unique among African countries, Ethiopia was never colonised, maintaining its independence throughout the Scramble for Africa onward. For this reason it has maintained over 80 unique ethnic groups and is home to 84 indigenous languages. It was a charter memeber of the United Nations and contains the headquarters of the African Union. The following photos depict ethiopia in daily life:
