About me: Since taking a break from school....I decided I should use my time wisely and travel the world. I simply began choosing countries that I was interested in learning about and started there. I began traveling in Central America,....living with a family for 5 months in Costa Rica. During the week I studied spanish at Universidad Interamericana and met a very funny German girl named Silvie; who would later influence many of my travels and ultimately many important things in my life. She and I would take weekend trips all over Costa Rica. A week before I was due to come home, we met two young college students from Colombia. They were traveling north, without any particular itenerary, and invited us to join along. Much to my family's dismay, I chose to begin a 6 week journey that has been the best decision I have ever made. Our journey together I cannot describe in words. It was the best! Mostly we visited all the ruins between Guatemala City and Mexico City....with a lot of hitch hiking, dancing, laughing, dirt cheap hotels (we stayed in a place in Antigua that cost $2 per night), street food, and no cares in the world.....
Because of this amazing experince, I haven't stopped going yet. I'm always looking for my next adventure and so far....I've had my share of amazing trips.
I have chosen in most of my travels to go alone.....I find that I'm able to meet more people this way and experince more things that I'm interested in. Last year's trip to Argentina was one of my most memorable. I did exactly everything that I wanted do for a perfect week in Buenos Aires. People often ask me, "Aren't you afraid to travel alone to another country?" And after living in downtown Birmingham for several years...I have to tell them no. Something could just as well happen to me here, as it could anywhere else.
Anyhow.....I'm packed full of great travel stories. I'm known for having good luck and making the best situations happen.
So yeah...I'll be writing more very soon.....besos
Sarah
